In the Walmart hostage video, Wallace grabs the toddler while her mother, Alicia Keating, had her back to the shopping cart. Keating screamed and begged the man to give back her daughter. Keating's older daughter was at the scene as she and other shoppers watched the horrible situation before them. Midwest City Assistant Police Chief Sid Porter said the man “had a weapon in his hand. A knife-type weapon holding up against the child, threatening the child’s life." Authorities evacuated the Walmart store and began negotiations with Wallace that took about 30 minutes. He was offered a chair at one point during their talks....
