As of Monday morning the news outlets have reported that 18 firefighters from an elite group known as "hotshots" lost their lives as well one firefighter who was not part of the Prescott Arizona "Hotshot" crew. There was one member of this crew that did survive because he was reportedly moving the unit's vehicle when the flames went erratic and overtook the rest of the crew but this firefighter is reported to have burns over 75% of his body. According to reports this crew is trained to dig into the ground and take cover under a foil lined "emergency shelter" in dire circumstances like this one.
